Future Rock Stars

WOW, it has been a LONG time since my last post. This just may be my annual post :) For Christmas the boys got a guitar and drum set. They love to play them and make up songs, or rock out to ones they already know (like Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam). I caught this last session on camera. It is kind of dark, but it sure it cute. One thing is for sure though, Adam needs to teach JJ how to hold a guitar :)

Summer FUN

Summer is finally here, I think. On Tuesday I had to break out the pool and water toys. The boys had so much fun. As for mom, I have a very sunburned back. The kids got sunscreen on them, who knew mom is supposed to put it on too??

Mr. Independent

Happy Birthday Nicklaus

Today is my baby's second birthday. I can't believe how fast the last two years have gone by! He had a sports birthday. He got new golf clubs, a golf glove, plastic golf balls, a baseball mit, and Better Batter Baseball. Nicklaus and JJ have been having so much fun playing with all the new toys. Nicklaus' favorite present was his new golf glove that JJ gave him, he is a true Thurman :) JJ was especially excited when Nicklaus opened Better Batter Baseball. It has been so much fun to have Nicklaus in our family. He is full of energy and has quite the personality!! Happy Birthday Baby!!!

Hogan, we will miss you!!

Our Memorial weekend started off a little sad. Adam's parents had to put their dog Hogan to sleep. As I told JJ he was old and had to go to Heaven. We will all miss you Hogies!!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we grabbed the kids, picked up Adam's parents, and headed off to Thanksgiving Point for a little family golf. It was a lot of fun. The boys love to golf (of course, they are just like their father)!!! They thought it was so much fun to be out on the golf course golfing, and they loved riding in the golf cart. Toward the end they started to get a little bored, so they decided to roll down the hills instead of play golf. It is so much fun to have the boys old enough that we can go to the golf course as a family, even if it is only for nine holes.

Day Out With Thomas

For the past couple of years over Memorial Day weekend we have taken a little trip up to Heber and spent the day out with Thomas. The kids LOVE it. They think that we are in the Island of Sodour (sp?). This is JJ's third year and Nicklaus' first. They get to ride on Annie or Clarabell. These are the passenger trains that Thomas is pulling according to JJ. They get to see Sir Topam Hat and do a few other fun little activites. It is so much fun to see how excited the kids get over Thomas!!

Nothing Says I Love You Like.........

For Valentines Day we took our kids to Monster Jam. It was soooo much fun. The boys loved it!! Nicklaus was a little scared because the trucks are so loud. When they first came out he stared to cry, but he got used to the noise. Nicklaus was very quiet the whole time we were there, so I thought maybe he didn't like it very much. Man was I wrong. He wouldn't stop talking about it the whole ride home. He still drags me to our computer to have me look at pictures of Monster Jam. Next time you see him, just ask him about it. He will tell you how the blue truck flew and the motorcycle did a flip. JJ was entertained the whole night. He thought the big monster trucks were awesome, and he thought it was pretty cool when they would go off the big jump. He also loved when a couple of them rolled over. Adam and I had a ton of fun just watching the boys and enjoying the show.

Adam
1. He is always willing to let me take time for me.
2. He is HOT!!! (as in good looking)
3. He is always trying to make me laugh, even if I am telling him to leave me alone!
4. He puts his family first.
5. He is caring towards everyone.

JJ
1. He is full of energy and always keeps me on my toes
2. He loves his little brother
3. He comes up with the craziest ideas. What an imagination.
4. He can sing along to Mama Mia, but his favorite song is the song he made up about Batman & Robin. You will have to ask him to sing it :)
5. He is going to get married in the boys temple, not the girls temple :)

Nicklaus
1. What a personality!!!
2. He likes to sing the Monkey and Aligator song at 3:30 in the morning in my bed :)
3. He loves his older brother.
4. He loves to play golf with his dad and brother.
5. He has to do everything by himself. Since when did kids get so independent at such a young age.

My Parents
1. They are always willing to help me out no matter what.
2. They watch my kids for me while I work.
3. My mom makes the best meals
4. My dad adores my two boys and they adore him.
5. They love my husband. Sometimes I think they like him more than me :)

My Brother
1. He is always there for me when I need a shoulder to cry on.
2. He is a very self motivated person.
3. He picked the perfect sister-in-law for me. We all love Annie!
4. He gets me free tickets to concerts.
5. He is always happy.

Catching Up

Happy Thanksgiving.




When Nicklaus dances he swivels his hips, so we call him Elvis. In this picture Nicklaus is dancing and happens to be holding an Elvis ornament. How Cute!!






We decided to start a new family tradition this year. The Monday before Thanksgiving we are going to spend family night putting up our Christmas tree & decorating the house. If you would have asked me to do this family tradition a few years ago I would have refused. I used to always get mad when people had their Christmas stuff up before Thanksgiving, and now I have turned into one of those people. It is just too much fun seeing your kids get excited about putting up the tree and decorating the house. Once again I am finding so much more joy in the Holiday's because of my kids.

Family Day

On Saturday I took the day off and Adam didn't have to work, so we had the funnest day with our little family. Adam got tickets to Disney on Ice from his work, so we took the boys. They loved it. As soon as the show started both their eyes lit up and they were so excited to see Mickey & Minnie Mouse :) They were both really good during the show. Towards the end Nicklaus got a little restless and JJ started to get tired, but it was a ton of fun. Then we had to go to Barber Brothers in Orem for Adam to check up on some work stuff. They had a bunch of fun things there for the kids to do. JJ got his face painted like Spiderman and Nicklaus got a spider painted on his cheek. They had a big blow up tent to jump in, so the kids had fun doing that. They had a little train to ride in around the parking lot and a magician. The kids had a blast. We were all very tired by the time we left to go home. It was so much fun to spend the day with my family. I can't remember the last time all four of us where together for an entire day. I loved it!!!!
